Our coaching team is the backbone of Ski Ability NI — a group of dedicated, skilled and compassionate volunteers who believe deeply in every athlete’s potential. They bring decades of combined expertise in adaptive skiing, safeguarding, disability support and athlete development.

Jill Coulter - Sloan

MBE • Founder of Adaptive Skiing in Northern Ireland

Jill introduced adaptive skiing to Northern Ireland over 30 years ago, beginning with amputee skiers and the very first sit-ski on our slope. She has dedicated her life to creating opportunities for disabled athletes and has served as Team Ireland’s Head Ski Coach numerous times, guiding athletes at regional, national and world competitions.

Her leadership, passion and unwavering belief in inclusion continue to shape the heart of our club.

Club Secretary

Phil is the backbone of Ski Ability NI’s operations, serving as our Club Secretary while also coaching athletes on the slope. Reliable, dedicated and endlessly supportive, he ensures the club runs smoothly week after week.

Phil quietly takes care of the essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps the club functioning — the kind of work most people never see, but everyone depends on. His commitment and steady presence make a remarkable difference, both on the slope and in the day-to-day life of the club.

Jane has been instrumental in developing our coaching approach and safeguarding culture. Warm, steady and deeply committed to athlete wellbeing, she ensures our slope remains a safe, encouraging and supportive environment for everyone.

Glyn

Club Chair

Glyn leads the club with warmth, humour and a deep connection to our athletes. His sense of fun makes training sessions enjoyable, and his commitment to athlete development supports our skiers as they grow in skill, confidence and independence.

As Club Chair, he helps guide Ski Ability NI’s direction and ensures our values of inclusion, community and athlete empowerment remain at the centre of everything we do.

Medical Officer

Alison recently joined the club as both a coach and our Medical Officer. As a doctor in her professional life, she brings invaluable expertise, ensuring our athletes receive the safest and most responsive care possible. Her calm, kind presence has already become an enormous asset to the team.
